BIODIVERSITY SPRING MARKET 2023
Discover the belgian biodiversity monitoring landscape
This event is over, but you can have a look at the presentations here.
The Belgian Biodiversity Platform is once again happy to invite you to the 8th edition of our Biodiversity Market (formally known as the BEES Market). This is the day where all stakeholders in the Belgian Biodiversity landscape get together to exchange ideas, network but also to meet each other in both a formal and informal setting.
This national and international science-policy-practice fair invites participation from all of our working areas on Biodiversity research, policy and practice including topics such as Invasive Alien Species, Biodiversity & Health, Biodiversity conservation, Biodiversity Data...
This year the market will focus on biodiversity monitoring. Following the COP15 Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and the EU biodiversity strategy 2030 it is now key to monitor progress towards these news targets.
At the European level, there are substantial efforts to harmonize biodiversity monitoring schemes and to set up a European Observation Network, based on existing national and subnational biodiversity monitoring schemes.
Bringing together Belgian Biodiversity actors and discussing how we could better organize ourselves could contribute to the reporting needs as well as the European efforts. Getting a better understanding of the biodiversity monitoring actors (who are they / what are they working on), data flows, and use of monitoring data both by public & private decision makers, will lead to a huge advancement in Biodiversity research.
Hope to see you all there!
As always, there will be food, drinks and prizes for the most original stands.
The event will take place on 22rd March 2023 at Avenue du Port - Havenlaan 88, 1000 Brussels from 10 am to 6 pm. Directions
