Open Letter for Biodiversity

Time for biodiversity to be a high priority on the political agenda? How about a campaign in Belgian newspapers? On the initiative of Dr Brendan Coolsaet, Assistant Professor at the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL), the Belgian Biodiversity Platform is calling for the Belgian scientific community to support an Open Letter for biodiversity to be published in Belgian newspapers.

The Open Letter is a call for action to safeguard biodiversity, by building on the recommendations listed in the regional assessment for Europe and Central Asia produced by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). The sixth IPBES Plenary session will take place in Medellin, Colombia, from 17 to 24 March 2018 and the official launch of the assessment is planned on 26 March, day on which the Open Letter will be published in Belgian newspapers in French- and Dutch-speaking media.

We need your support! The more signatories to this Open Letter, the more impact we have!
