Collaborative projects with TÜBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council) – Turkey

OBJECTIVE

This agreement aims to promote and strengthen the cooperation between Flanders and Turkey in the field of scientific and technological research, by:

  • The execution of common research projects, more specifically by exchanging research results, scientists, specialists and researchers
  • The exchange of individual scientists for the purpose of conducting research work, exchange of information about ongoing research activities, adoption of new scientific methods, delivering lectures, establishing new scientific contacts for developing joint projects, attending scientific events
  • Organising and participating in joint scientific meetings, conferences, symposia, courses, workshops, exhibitions, etc.
  • Exchange of scientific and technical research results, information and documentations arising from the bilateral scientific and technological cooperation
  • Joint use of research and development facilities and scientific equipment;

The projects have a duration of two years.

PROCEDURE

WHO CAN APPLY?

Researchers from postdoctoral level upwards, affiliated to a Flemish university can apply.

WHAT CAN BE APPLIED FOR?

Researchers can apply for a cooperation project of two years within the following scientific domains:

  • Information and Communication Technologies
  • Energy
  • Transport and Mobility
  • Materials, Manufacturing and Production Technologies
  • Social Sciences and Humanities
  • Medical Sciences
  • Food and Agriculture
  • Biotechnology

The following cost categories are eligible for funding:

  • Travel costs between Flanders and Turkey.
  • Accommodation, daily allowance and domestic travel in both countries.
  • Organisation of joint conferences, congresses, symposia etc.

Each party bears the full costs of its own researchers.

Per project and per partner country the total amount of time abroad applied for cannot exceed the limit of two months per year. The maximum duration of stays abroad covering all granted projects is set at six months per year.

WHEN CAN BE APPLIED?

The precise date of each call will be determined in consultation with TÜBITAK and communicated via the usual channels (website, newsletter, mailing).

The 2013 call is open from October 1, 2013 through February 1, 2014.

A project proposal must be submitted simultaneously to FWO and TÜBITAK. If this is not the case, the proposal will be declared ineligible.
