The Belgian Biodiversity Platform and partners are pleased to invite you to the Empowering Biodiversity Research conference, EBR II, taking place May 24-25 2022 in Tervuren at the AfricaMuseum. We will take you on a journey into the world of biodiversity data standards and tools and will inform you on the latest developments in the world of Biodiversity Informatics, both internationally and locally. What is the state of the art in initiatives like GBIF, LifeWatch and DiSSCo, etc and how can we let them work for us? We have invited some very interesting international speakers and will inform you on the progress made by these projects in Belgium. During this conference we will build a bridge between Biodiversity informatics and his older relative "Bioinformatics" and investigate what a crossover of these 2 worlds can bring to Biodiversity Research. Genomic information meets digital taxonomy!
Next to the plenary sessions, we will again, organize the Biodiversity Market, where you can visit market stands, dedicated to Biodiversity Informatics and all that is related.
There will be a poster session organised at the Empowering Biodiversity Research 2022 conference. You are invited to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. For more info about the poster session, click here.
A reception is foreseen on May 24th. It will give you the perfect opportunity to talk with your colleagues, friends on Biodiversity Informatics and what it could do for our research community.
For more information, please contact Dimitri Brosens, GBIF node Manager at the Belgian Biodiversity Platform.
