Training courses in ecological survey techniques

University of Oxford - Deadline for application: 31st July

The University of Oxford provides a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Ecological Survey Techniques. This qualification will appeal to environmental and ecological consultants, employees of NGOs and statutory nature conservation organizations, wildlife conservation officers, and a wide range of environment-related professions in business, industry and education.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Ecological Survey Techniques offers an effective blend of online, face-to-face and experiential learning to equip students with capacity, knowledge, understanding and confidence to conduct ecological field surveys, and then quantify and analyse data in order to effectively assess and monitor biodiversity and ecosystems. The approach is practical, and students are encouraged to question, and pool/exchange knowledge and experience with their peers and tutors.

The deadline for application is the 31st July 2013.

The PGCert is usually followed over one year, with the option to study over a longer period to help students balance other commitments or work with seasonal variations for optimal surveying conditions.
