IPBES UPTAKE EVENT

On 19 March, the Belgian IPBES Focal Point invited researchers, policmakers and practitioners for an uptake event for the Nexus and Transformative Change Assessments.

Belgian IPBES Day on 19 March 2025 in BRUSSELS

On 19 March, the Belgian IPBES Focal Point invited researchers, policmakers and practitioners for an uptake event for the two newest IPBES assessments:

🔍hashtagThe Nexus assessment which tackles the interlinkages of biodiversity, water, food, health and climate change, truly ambitious work to bridge single-issue siloes.
📚 The Transformative Change assessment which focuses on the underlying causes of the biodiversity crisis, the determinants of change and shows pathways for a more just & sustainable world.

Together with invited IPBES experts, we took a deep dive into the assessments during the morning's presentations. In the afternoon, we focussed on the practical applications of the latest IPBES findings through breakout groups and panel discussions. Throughout the day, the participants could exchange with each other on using the findings of these assessments in their own work.
