IPBES Thematic Assessment on Pollinators, Pollination and Food Production

Executive summaries also available online

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is the intergovernmental body which assesses the state of biodiversity and of the ecosystem services it provides to society, in response to requests from decision makers.

The IPBES thematic Assessment on Pollinators, Pollination and Food Production is now available to download here. Note that the laid-out version of the summary for policy-makers is already available here

The assessment is a valuable global resource, which is already helping to inform and shape national action through better, science-led policy. Last week, the French Minister of Environment, Energy and the Sea, Ségolène Royal, hosted a high-level event on pollination at which the IPBES Assessment was highlighted as a key reference for action in support of pollination services across France.

The IPBES secretariat will also be hosting an IPBES pollination side-event in the margins of the CBD COP13 in Mexico, on Tuesday, 6 December 2016, presenting key finding and messages from the Assessment, with a focus on informing national action plans and implementation.
