Prize D4D rewards outstanding initiatives that use digitisation and (new) technologies as a lever for development towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Prize D4D consists of two categories:
- Innovative idea / start up – ‘iStartUp’ (jury award)
- Success story – ‘iStandOut’ (jury award and audience award)
Submissions in the category 'iStandOut' can compete for jury award and/or audience award. Once the call is closed, the public can vote for their favourite success stories via the online voting system.
Students (Bachelor – Master - PhD), young researchers, research teams, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the private sector, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Citizen initiatives can all participate in the Prize D4D.
In its selection of a winner, the Prize D4D bases itself on the evaluation of the jury. All entries will be evaluated by a jury that will nominate 3 initiatives per category and subsequently retains 1 winner in each of the two categories ‘iStartUp’ and ‘iStandOut’. A third winner will be chosen by the public in the category ‘iStandOut’. All 3 winners will be announced at the award ceremony where the prizes will be handed out by Alexander De Croo, Minister for Development Cooperation and the Digital Agenda.
