PersistentIDs Workshop

3rd October, Solvay Room, ULB Campus

Description of the event

GBIF has identified the provision of identifiers for biodiversity objects as one of the central challenges to developing a global bioinformatics infrastructure. This workshop is an opportunity for us to dissemate the knowledge gained at similar GBIF course. It aims at increasing the knowledge of the participants about Persistent Identifiers, specifically on how to issue, use, publish and resolve these identifiers, helping them to select the most appropriate solution for their specific situation.

Number of participants and target audience

20 people from various Belgian Institutes whether being GBIF Publishers or not. This course is targeted to (i) teams leading the development of biodiversity informatics tools that can potentially issue/use/resolve Persistent Identifiers and (ii) biodiversity data managers, who are in a position to start implementing Persistent Identifiers in their work.

---This event is cancelled due to a lack of participants---
